Chillier and more ethereal than the charred Unknown Pleasures, Joy Division's second and final studio album tore a jagged hole through post-punk convention, as dirges like "Atrocity Exhibition" rubbed elbows with manic, synth-streaked dance-floor cuts like "Isolation."
